John and Lorie Barnes of Avon Lake, Ohio announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah K. Barnes to Tyler J. Goodwin, son of Mark and Lisa Goodwin of Avon Lake.  

Grandparents of the groom-to-be are Helen Goodwin of Avon Lake and Lee and Sheila Logan of Great Falls, Montana. 

Sarah attended Bowling Green State University and is currently completing nursing school at Lorain County Community College. 

Tyler attended the University of Toledo, Lorain Community College and is currently serving in the United States Marine Corp. He is a Lance Corporal, working as an aviation electrician, while stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, California. 

Sarah and Tyler were high school sweethearts and are both graduates of Avon Lake High School.

A late summer 2012 wedding is planned. 

The couple will reside in San Diego, California.
