Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Avon and Avon Lake Patches Will Merge May 31

One Patch will give you two times the news, information and opinion.

It’s coming: The Avon-Avon Lake Patch

Two for the price of one.

One-stop shopping.

The marriage of the year.

You get the idea. Starting next Thursday, May 31, the Avon and Avon Lake Patches will join hands and become one: The Avon-Avon Lake Patch.

We know that sister cities Avon and Avon Lake have a lot in common, including several trusted community organizations like Community Resource Services. So it only makes sense to come together to give you one powerful Patch that will let residents and businesses in one city reach the residents and businesses in the other.

After the merger, readers can go to one site and choose whether they want Avon news, Avon Lake news or both: topic pages for each city will make it easier to meet your wants and expectations.

Those readers who prefer to get news, information and opinion for both cities can find events, garage sales and summer activities in one place.

What’s not to love? Your posted events will be seen by double the audience and you'll have twice the events to check out in one place.

The new link -- you’ll want to bookmark it -- is Avon-OH.patch.com. But if you accidentally go to AvonLake.patch.com, don't worry -- we’ll automatically direct you to the right page.

Have a business? You might want to call our advertising representative, Vince Ing,  at 216-501-1584 or email him now. You’ll reach twice as many readers in one for the same ad price. Avon businesses can reach Avon Lake residents, and vice versa, in one easy place.

Avon Lake Facebook fans, you’ll want to make sure to “like” us on Avon OH Patch. But we’ll keep the Avon Lake page up for a little while to give you time to come on over.

What a way to kick off summer!

We're planning a celebration, so check back for more details in a week.

We are two cities that can share many things. This decision seems to make sense to me. Our business communities can share information, develope more networking opportunities and offer residents of both cities the ability to search locally for services they need and want.
