Three Avon students at Lorain County Joint Vocational School did well at a regional Family Career and Community Leaders of America competition.

Junior Ashley Kreis won a silver medal in the Promote and Publicize FCCLA event, and will move on to the state competition in Columbus, which will be held in April.

Yasmihng Bradford won a gold medal and Moria Schuster won a bronze with the culinary team.

FCCLA is for students in family and consumer science education. Some subjects covered include leadership, family relationships, communication, nutrition, fitness, teen violence and goal-setting.
