Avon-Nagel Intersection Closing Until September
Improvements at intersection will start on Monday, June 18.
The Avon-Nagel Road intersection will be closing for approximately two and a half months starting Monday, June 18.
“In order to expedite construction of the Nagel Road Interchange and the work associated with it, Mosser Construction will be closing the intersection of Avon and Nagel Road to through traffic on Monday, June 18, 2012 at approximately 9 a.m.,” Don Damyanic, Avon’s Construction Project Manager said in an advisory.
The timing of the closure will allow for morning traffic to use Avon Road in a normal manner. Once the intersection is closed, traffic will be detoured to the east end of Avon Road at the intersection of Bradley Road in Westlake. The closure will be in place until the beginning of September.

How does it make any sense at all to reclose Avon Road when Nagle is reopened. It makes a second safe egress for residents in Willow Creek plus it allows people to easily access Crocker Park. The reason it was closed is that the pavement was bad. Now it is good. We should FIGHT to keep Avon road open.
