Avon Students Snag Spots in Mag's 'Peter Pan'
Play opens Nov. 16
Two Avon students, AJ Sumser and Hannah Zoldesy have parts in Magnificat High School’s production of Peter Pan, which runs Nov. 16-18 and Nov. 23-25.
The production is being put on by Magnificat’s Performing Arts Department . It is the Broadway musical version that parallels the performances made famous by Mary Martin and Cathy Rigby, including the famous flying scenes.
The production includes 40 high school students and four grade-school children, including the two from Avon.
“The four grade school students in the cast give the production a more realistic interpretation of this timeless tale,” director Amy Smialek said. “We are very excited to extend our extensive theatrical process to these youngsters.”
Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m., and the Sunday matinee is at 4 p.m. All performances are in the Magnificat Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are available online at www.ticketspigot.com or at www.magnificaths.org (and clicking on the Spotlight/Events box). Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.
