Family and friends of Avon teen Scott Scarvelli came out for a car wash at the Avon Fire Department on Saturday to help raise money for his medical expenses.
Scarvelli was paralyzed in a motocross accident in February.
With the help of a tutor, he made the honor roll each of the marking periods he was out of school this past school year. He plans to return to school this fall.
More than a dozen friends and family, including some from Scarvelli's motocross days, were on hand Saturday to wash cars. While the adults washed cars, Scarvelli and his friends took to the sidewalk along Detroit Road in front of the firehouse to encourage drivers to come in.
