Congress, Get to Work (Both Parties)

Agree? Disagree? Tell us in comments.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Is anyone else out there frustrated by the fact that the U.S. House of Representatives is in session only eight days from Labor Day until this past Friday?

One women called and asked for the House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's office, which schedules the session dates, to find out if this was true. His staff said yes and were heading home to do Campaigning and possibly do some work.

We pay these idiots good money, the best medical care plan in the nation and the best retirement program than anyone else including CEO's. I think that its time that we get them to start working every day every week.

Maybe we need to scare the living *&%# out of them. Put a price tag on their heads (figuratively).

Finally they will get the message and get to work to solve all the problems in this country. Forget what party you belong to just remember the people who put you in office.

It is unacceptable the lack of work of the House of Representatives but equally or even more unacceptable is a Senate that has not passed a budget in 3 years and a White House who submits budgets that are unanimously rejected. When will all of these politicians start to realize they are elected to "represent" the best interest of the nation and not special interests or lobbyist.

But they treat "Special Interests" as special, it's right there in the name! I agree though, more cooperation and compromises must start happening, or nothing will ever change. I'm starting to become disillusioned, and am now of the opinion that whomever we elect, there will be at most a 5% difference.

Neither side is going to have the pull to push all of their agendas, with the Republicans in control of 55% of the House, and Democrats in control of 53% of the Senate. I think the Democrats made a mistake using their seats to pass the Obamacare bill, but still think that SOMETHING needed to be done. I'm sure we could have had a better bill that wasn't so divisive if both sides were willing to bend their iron-clad party platforms just a little bit.
