Ding Dong the Twinkie’s Dead: Which Cake Will You Miss Most?
Take our poll below, lament in the comments.
Ding Dong the Twinkie’s dead. So are Ho Hos, Suzy Q’s and Chocodiles, or the (insert puerile-sounding name here.)
Or at least they are for now.
Hostess Brands, born in 1930 was declared gone-for-good on Nov. 16, 2012. Don’t believe us? Go to the company’s website, which just hours after the announcement of the company’s demise posted this banner headline: “Hostess Brands is Closed.”
The company blamed a union strike for crippling its operations.
Before all despair over the loss of their beloved snack cakes, there is still a possibility that another company could purchase the Twinkie (and Ho Hos, Ding Dong etc.) and they can live on in deep-fried infamy.
It’s been awhile (see yesterday’s CNN news feed on Petraeus) since such an iconic figure has taken over the Internet, but congratulations Twinkie, you did it.
Now it’s our readers’ turn to tell say which, if any, Hostess product they’ll miss the most.
Take our poll below and share you angst over your lost snack cakes in the comments below.

Twinkies! My favorite high school lunch-line treat. Lock a few away now and they'll (still) be around forever.

Hostess Cupcakes and Snow Balls are my favorites. Just like Oreo's there is a trick to eating them, cupcakes you eat from the cake (bottom) up to yummy chocolate frosting and snow balls , same thing , eat the cake inside and then the marshmallow outside !!!

Looks like they're not in Kansas anymore--or anywhere else.
