The city of Avon came out Friday afternoon to see the Avon High School football team off as the Eagles left for Massillon to play Trotwood-Madison in the OHSAA Division II state football championship.
The caravan of buses for the team and cheerleaders were led by an escort from the Avon police and fire departments. Students from Avon Middle School, Heritage North and Heritage South, Village School and Avon East showed up outside their buildings to cheer the team.
