EPA Issues Air Quality Alert for Lorain County

Voluntarily reduce activities that contribute to ozone air pollution.

 

The air quality for Monday,  Nov. 19 is projected to be “unhealthy for sensitive groups, advises the Ohio EPA.

Residents, businesses and local governments should voluntarily reduce activities that contribute to ozone air pollution.

A press release issued by the EPA said individuals should be “proactive by reducing or eliminating unnecessary motor vehicle trips, and consider carpooling or use public transportation.” Consider setting your home or office air conditioning/ thermostat slightly higher. Refuel vehicles and mow grass after 7 p.m.”

Asthmatics, those with preexisting respiratory conditions, the elderly and young children should consider reducing outdoor activities the EPA advises.

 Particle pollution is projected to be 2.5 microns.

We haven't had one of these in awhile. EPA says "Consider setting your home or office air conditioning slightly higher," lol. Or just open a window.
