Feeling the Love? Let Kelly's Gang Help Share It with a "Singing Valentine"
Quartet will sing, present a rose and card...and it will help students as well.
Spread a little love and you might end up helping some high school kids in the process.
Kelly’s Gang Quartet (named after Avon Lake United Church of Christ’s Kelly Brill) will sing two love songs in excellent harmony, and present a red rose and a card from you this week (ordering info below).
“We'll arrive in bright red jackets with navy blue bow ties to add a showbiz dimension,” member Bill Thornhill said.
The "gang" is made up of Avon Lakers tenor Tom Beal, lead Bill Thornhill, bass Kurt Cummings and baritone Bob Mange.
The training and show are under the direction of several of The Barbershop Harmony Society's most dynamic directors.
“This highlight experience is made complete by a dynamic on stage show with an exciting group of young people. It is a ‘wow’ experience for these students” Thornhill said.
The quartet will sing to individuals or groups.
Kelly’s Gang makes frequent appearances in Northeast Ohio and sang the Star Spangled Banner at a Crusher’s game last summer. The group will sing “all over the place, from Lorain to Wickcliff,” Thornhill said.
The cost is $40 to sing to an individual or two, and includes a card and rose.
“If we're asked to sing a few songs to a group we charge $60,” Thornhill said.
A half hour performance, as they will be doing this week in Avon Lake, costs $100.
The group will perform for free this Wednesday morning at 10 at The United Church of Christs Jack n' Jill nursery school.
"We did something like this at The Goddard School in Independence last year and it was so much fun," Thornhill said.
