- Avon High School's football team plays Trotwood-Madison for the OHSAA Division II state title at 7 p.m. Friday at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massilon. Advance tickets are $8 and tickets at the gate are $10. As soon as advance ticket sales are set up at the high school, we'll let you know. Go, Eagles!
- Avon City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall. One of the items on the agenda is an enterprise zone agreement with Custom Culinary that would give the company, which is looking to expand in Avon, a tax abatement.
- The French Creek District is celebrating the start of the holiday season with a weekend full of events. There's a Winter Wine Walk from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Ten dollars gets you in to shops where you can look around and sample food and wine. Saturday will feature the arrival of Santa at the French Creek gazebo and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Shop the district all weekend for specials and prizes.
- There's not much better on a Sunday than pancakes. Enjoy them without having to cook or clean up at the Avon Band and Orchestra Boosters Pancake Breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Avon High School.
- Create a special Christmas memory with your pet at by getting Fido's, Kitty's or Buckwheat's photo taken with Santa at Love-A-Stray's pet photos with Santa event at Paws by the Lake in Avon Lake. A $10 donation, all of which goes to Love-A-Stray, will go to Love-A-Stray.
