Santa with some fine furry friends.

It’s that time of the year. And don’t forget your pets!

This Saturday, make sure you bring your pet (iguanas welcome) to the Pet Photos with Santa Fundraiser at D.O.G. Apparel/Paws by the Lake.

The Dec. 3 event runs from 1 to 4 p.m.

Get a professional digital photograph of your pet or pets with a fabulous Santa complete with Elves and Sleigh. Love-A-Stray, the event’s sponsor is asking for a $10 donation. There is a large daycare area for your dog to relax while waiting for Santa. The annual event has become a favorite for pet owners locally.

“All the Love-A-Stray volunteers look forward to Pet Photos with Santa because so many of the dogs we have rescued throughout the year attend the event with their new families to support our non-profit group,” Love-A-Stray director Connie Field. “There is nothing better than seeing a dog that was once sad and homeless march into the room with their new family, knowing they are happy and safe now

All proceeds go to Love-A-Stray Non-Profit Rescue.

“It really makes our year and helps motivate the volunteers to continue their hard work,” Field said. “We  saved about 300 dogs in 2011 and need the funds from this event to continue our rescue efforts.”

Refreshments, raffles and door prizes hosted by: D.O.G. Apparel and Paws by the Lake, 33757 Lake Road, Avon Lake.

It is. It's designed for a cat. My sister's cat, Andre, used to wear it. Deb sent it to me for my cat, Lenny. For fun, we decided to put it on Buckwheat.
