Grafton Woman Faces DUI Charges After Crash

The following arrest information was provided by the Avon Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Grafton woman was charged with driving under the influence after hitting a car pulling out of Burger King on Monday night.

Amanda Eliason, 27, of Grafton was driving her 2009 Honda Civic west on Detroit Road just after 9:30 p.m. when she struck a Ford Econoline driven by Thomas Lyons, 62, of Lakewood.

Lyons was pulling out of the Burger King parking lot to turn east onto Detroit Road, he told Avon police. Eliason hit the Econoline, which was registered to the American Red Cross in Cleveland, in the left rear side.

Traffic was stopped on Detroit Road for several minutes while the scene was cleared. Both cars had to be towed.

Lyons was charged with failure to yield.
