Homecoming 2012: Pizza and a Bonfire Start Avon Lake's Big Weekend
Hundreds dine on all-you-can-eat pizza while students hold a rally.

Avon Lake Homecoming, traditionally the city's biggest weekend, kicked off Oct. 4, with a pizza bake off and bonfire.
Hundreds turned out for the Rotary pizza bake off, which was followed by a bonfire in the south lot at the high school.
Under the watchful eyes of the Avon Lake Fire Department, a healthy bonfire roared as three football players tossed a life-sized effigy doll adorned with a Westlake Demons t-shirt, horns and devil's beard, into the fire.
