The Lakeshore Electric Railway

On Monday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. local author Al Doane presents a fascinating, illustrated history of this northern Ohio transportation link between Cleveland and Toledo. Learn how Electric Boulevard got its name.

Jr. Tree House Club – Let’s Play Concentration

Kids ages 6 & 7 are invited to join the Jr. Tree House Club on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 4 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. Make your own Concentration game to take home!  Register in DiscoveryWorks or by calling 440-933-7848.

The Beauty of Stained Glass Art

Learn about the fascinating history of stained glass. Local artist and American Glass Guild member Judy Kean will discuss the process of designing and creating stained glass art on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.  

Growing Your Business 2011 – Creating a Marketing Program

Social media, websites, marketing schedules and marketing plans – how do the pieces fit together?  Find out how and set your business on the path to success on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. This workshop is part of the Small Business Resource Connection that assists with the growth of small local businesses.

 After Hours Lock-In

Games…computers…pizza…and it’s all after-hours on Friday, Dec. 2 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. for students ages 11 – 16. A permission form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian and returned prior to the event. Forms are available at the YA desk.

Compared to various other libraries I have been in within other states, I must say I am very impressed with activities Avon Lake Library provides!
