Mailboxes Vandalized in Neighborhood

The following arrest information was provided by the Avon Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Several mailboxes were vandalized, including one with a racial slur, at several homes in the Red Tail neighborhood in the early hours of March 14.

Avon police found a racial slur written on a mailbox in the 33700 block of North Fall Lake Drive around 5:46 a.m.

As officers drove around the neighborhood, they saw another vandalized mailbox on that block, and three mailboxes knocked off their posts in the 4200 and 4300 blocks of White Pine Street.

A man called Avon police after being approached in the parking lot of McDonald’s a little after 3 a.m. on March 13 by a black man in a black pickup truck offering the white woman in the truck with him as a prostitute.

Sundae driver

A driver got a lecture from an Avon police officer after being spotted weaving on Center Road before pulling into Bob-O-Link on March 14. The driver admitted that they were eating an ice cream sundae while driving.

Why is the race of the people involved in the McDonald's incident noted? These are not descriptions intended to help us identify and locate these people. Why not "brown haired woman" and "tall man"? The notation of race in this article shocks and saddens me.

"Why is the race of the people involved in the McDonald's incident noted?"

Because it helps the police do their job?
