While work has been going on for the past few weeks around the coming Nagel Road interchange, the project officially gets underway with a ceremony Thursday morning.
And the first big change comes in just two weeks.
The Nagel Road bridge over I-90 will be closed starting Sept. 28, Don Damyanic, the construction manager hired by the city for the project, announced Wednesday morning.
That means Nagel between Detroit Road and and I-90 will only be useable for local traffic, as there are no outlets (Avon Road remains closed at the Westlake border). And Nagel will be closed south of Chester.
If you go to or from Nagel Road north of Detroit Road, Damyanic recommends starting to use detours now. The simplest one is using Jaycox Road as an alternate route. Detour signs will be posted.
