Police Blotter: Stalker, DUI and Love, Interrupted

Neighbor makes displeasure known over headboard-banging.

An ex-girlfriend who apparently decided she was not going to be ignored got into her former boyfriend's Chester Road home around 3 a.m. on April 3 and pounded on his bedroom door.

She didn't say anything, or try to harm him. The woman then fled in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The boyfriend called Avon police.

The woman was found about five minutes later by Avon Lake police and, while she wasn't arrested, was advised not to have any further contact with her ex.

Beware of Flying Tires

The front door of a Detroit Road home was damaged April 4 after a tire blew off a passing vehicle and through the front door.

Around 1:50 p.m., the driver of the car was heading west on Detroit when she felt the car shake, then drop. The right rear tire flew off and went through the door of a home in the 38700 block of Detroit. A trellis in the yard was also damaged. No one was hurt.

If the Headboard's Rockin', Make Sure it's not Knockin'

A Crab Apple Lane resident, unhappy about their neighbor's headboard banging into their units' common wall over and over around 3:40 a.m. on April 1, pounded on the wall in response. Yelling ensued, police were called. No arrests, but the amorous neighbor was advised to come up with a solution for the headboard issue.

DUIs

Avon police were called after a woman believed to have been having a panic attack after driving her car into a ditch in the 1500 block of Rosewood Boulevard around 4:03 am. on April 4 was found to be intoxicated.

Octavia Towner, 25, was charged with DUI after she and a child in the car were taken to St. John West Shore Hospital.

An Avon police officer spotted a car weaving on I-90 near the Route 83 exit around 3:36 a.m. on April 3 and pulled the driver over. Bennett Jones, 30, was charged with DUI.

Richard Pulling, 47, was charged with DUI after being pulled over on I-90 east around 9:59 p.m. on April 2.

Squirrel!

A squirrel described as sickly looking and missing clumps of hair damaged a door screen of a home in the 37200 block of Detroit Road around 7 p.m. on April 4.

It was gone by the time police arrived.

Put Down the Cell Phone ... And the Booze

A man called police around 12:22 a.m. on April 3 complaining about a loud party at his Summerhill Drive residence. When police showed up, they saw he was drunk and made sure his cell phone was taken away from him for the night.

Vacation Downer

A Stonewood Street resident out of town on vacation found out from Avon police around 6 p.m. on April 1 that their garage door had been open for two days.

The door going into the house was also unlocked. The resident's father-in-law is believed to have accidentally left the door open after putting the garbage cans back in the garage while the family was away. After the mother-in-law did a walk-through of the home and said everything looked all right, the house was locked up again.
