Power Update: No Word On When Power Will Come Back
Expect a Code Red this afternoon.
While portions of Avon Lake have had power return following the remnants of Hurricane Sandy, much of the city is still in the dark.
Following the storm 400 residents were out in Avon and more than 5,000 in Avon Lake.
Residents (via our Facebook page) are reporting today that the Redwood/Brookfield area is still out as are areas in the 45s. Also reported out are Westwinds near the lake on Seaward and Westwind Drive, and many areas off of Electric west of SR 83 including Inwood south of Electric, corner of Parkwood and Electric.
Power has returned to some streets off of Electric Boulevard near the library, the Woodlands, Sunset Boulevard south of Electric. Wedgewood went on last night as did Quail Hollow Circle.
“We didn’t receive a 9 a.m. update,” Zilka said. “They are still working. There are still many area of the town without electricity."
Zilka said residents may get an update later this afternoon via Code Red, the reverse 9-1-1 system.
Let us know what areas in town are still without power or have recently returned power in the comments section.
