Snapshot Avon Lake: Perfect Day for Anything But a Sail

Sunny skies and 78 degrees was a perfect boating day, unless you were relying on the wind.

Boat owner Jim Geiger took friends Kevin Keyser and Marc Mazzarella out for a Lorain to Cleveland sail June 17, but had to make a pit stop at Miller Road Park's pier to gas up when the day proved to be too calm to rely on Mother Nature for wind power.

The trio called a friend in Avon Lake, gassed up, and powered the motor before heading over to Spitzer Marina...sails down. In case you were wondering, Miller Road Park does not service boats.

Tomorrow's forecast calls for wind...and showers.
