Avon-Avon Lake Patch reader Bob Quinlan submitted this photo that sums up February on Lake Erie perfectly.

“SNOw boating today!” Bob emailed. “Boats at the Avon Lake Boat Club will have to stay put for awhile. Avon Lake finally got some snow but don't worry, the groundhog said we will have an early spring, so keep the faith fellow boaters.”

Bob is also a photographer extraordinaire.

The Avon Lake Boat Club is open to Avon Lake residents interested in boating, kayaking and small boat sailing. Annual perch and walleye derbies are held every summer.

The popular club (there is a waiting list) counts 120 racks for 14 foot class boats, 24 kayak racks and three racks for small sail boats.
