A new car care option has opened in Avon.

Superlube opened this month at 896 Center Road, just south of Bubba's Q.

It is the sixth Superlube in the area for owner Fred Tavakoli. The other Superlubes are in Westlake, Cleveland, Euclid, Parma Heights and Brunswick.

Superlube offers oil and filter changes, and specializes in alignment, brake and suspension work. The shop also works on exhaust, tires and heating/cooling.

"It was a natural progression," said Tavakoli. "We've lived on the west side for 25 years."

Tavakoli got into the automotive business in 1985, opening the first Superlube in Parma Heights. At first, the business focused on lube/oil changes, then branched out into other services.

The Westlake shop draws customers primarily from Westlake and Bay Village, Tavakoli said. The Avon location is good for getting customers from Avon Lake as well as Avon.

"We love this area," he said.

It took a while for the Superlube to come into being. Work began on the site last fall, Tavakoli said. But heavy rains in the spring and summer led to several delays on the project.

"We were originally planning to open in August," he said.
