On a budget? Looking to stay close to home this summer? Fifty-nine percent of you said the best place in Avon Lake to vacation is…on Lake Erie. It’s no surprise when you add a great lake and summertime together for jetsking, boating, swimming or sunbathing on the shore.

Avon Lake’s Miller Road Park earned 15 percent of this week’s votes along with a mini vaca at Sunset Shores Bed and Breakfast. Veterans Park gets points for receiving props in the comment section including a tour of the Folger Home, a beach, picnic area and the boat club.

Biking on the city’s stretch of Lake Road earned 9 percent of the votes.
