Thanksgiving: What's Closed, What's Open

Check here before making plans

It's Thanksgiving, and the only reason most people leave their homes is to go to someone else's for dinner.

But, if you're heading out, here's a guide to what's open and closed around Avon on Thanksgiving.

All federal, state and local government offices, including the Post Office, are closed on Thursday. Avon City Hall is also closed on Friday. Avon Local Schools are closed Thursday and Friday.

Heinen's is closed Thursday. Bi-Rite will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for any last-minute needs. Martin's Corner Deli is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you're hitting the road Thursday morning and want breakfast before you go, Perkins is open from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. International House of Pancakes is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bob Evans, Applebee's, Red Robin and Panera Bread are closed.

Need caffeine for the trip? Starbucks is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Caribou Coffee will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and will then be re-opening at 11:30 Thursday night for the Black Friday early birds.

If you want to get together with friends after dinner, some bars around town will be open. Frank and Ellie's opens at 9 a.m. and will be open all day and evening. Two Bucks opens at 5 p.m. According to its website, Mulligans will be closed. Winking Lizard and Rush Inn are also closed.
