Cooperative weather and dozens of volunteers hit the ground on May 19, helping spruce up areas of Avon Lake. Scouts, church members, Kiwanians, Rotarians, the high school football team and plenty of others spent a good part of Saturday morning volunteering.

Helpers were on hand at the Community Garden, the Avon Lake Boat Club, various parks, private residences, the Peter Miller House and Museum and Safety Town.
