Just finished your holiday shopping and ready to celebrate? Haven't started yet and need to carbo load before a frantic shopping excursion? Or maybe you just want to kick back and relax for a few hours.
We checked our business directory and came up with more than two dozen Avon Lake restaurants, bars and grocery stores open on Christmas Eve (and a few on Christmas Day) whether you've been naughty (or want to be) or nice.
Don't forget the gravy: Giant Eagle is open Christmas Eve from midnight – 4:30 p.m. K&C Meats is open 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. And because you forgot batteries, milk, etc., Convenient Food Mart will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 6 a.m. – midnight on both days.
Keeping it fast: Subway (7 a.m. – 5 p.m.), McDonald's (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) Domino's (11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Dairy Queen (11 a.m. – 3 p.m.), Donatos Pizza (11 a.m. – 10 p.m.) , Mr. Hero (10:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.) and Romeo's Pizza (10 a.m. – 7 p.m.) are all open on Christmas Eve. For those who shun the kitchen, Domino's is open Christmas Day from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Keeping it warm: Need a coffee break from last-minute shopping? The Boardwalk Café is open from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Rio's Cafe, sporting a nice cache of holiday coffee grounds and sandwiches, is open 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. Athena's Deli, a favorite breakfast spot, is open from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Holiday Cheer and grub: Looking to raise a glass and grab a bite before Santa delivers the goods? Klingshirn Winery is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Christmas Eve, as is Stella's (11 a.m. – "8 or 9 p.m.), Jake's On The Lake (11 a.m. – 3 p.m.), Las Cazuelas (11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.), John Christ Winery (10 a.m. – 4 p.m. ), Buffalo Wild Wings (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.) 3rd Base Bar & Grille (10:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m.), Thai Chili (11 a.m. – 10 p.m.), Lucky Wok, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Mark Pi's (11:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.), Aroma (reservation only) and China Chef (11 a.m. – 11 p.m.) Also open: Legacy Restaurant (11 a.m. – 2p.m.), Casita Del Lago (11 a.m. – 10 p.m.) and Grilled (11 a.m. – 3 p.m.) Want your liquor to go? Larry's Liquor Store is open 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
3rd Base will also be open Christmas Day from 1 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. as will China Chef from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
