William Penning, age 91, of Avon Lake, passed away on Oct. 28, 2012. He was born on May 23, 1921.

William was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (nee Johnson); dear father of Jim (Susan), Scott (Fay) and Peg Neudeck (Tom); grandfather of Ryan Penning (Katie), Melissa Swartwood (Charlie), Nick and Max Penning and Carlie Straub (Jim).

He was the great-grandfather of Alexa Penning, Sophie Swartwood, Isabel and Sophie Straub; brother of the late Henrietta Gruizeng, Herman, Garrett, Claus Penning.

A memorial service will be held in Walker Chapel at Rocky River Presbyterian Church, 21750 Detroit Road, Rocky River on Monday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.
