Avon Police responded to a call for assistant May 20 at Village at Avon Apartments on Chester Road at 11:26 p.m.

Police arrested Crystal Buford, 44 and charged her with domestic violence, a felony, and resisting arrest. An Avon Police officer said a male victim was bleeding when they arrived.

Buford was arraigned in Avon Lake Municipal Court on May 22. A preliminary hearing to determine if the charges will be bound over to the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas is scheduled for May 29.

Police were not able to comment on the injuries to the man, adding the incident was still under investigation.
