Detroit Avenue Traffic: Who Else is Frustrated?
Detroit Road will be busy in the mornings as Avon High students either drive themselves or are driven to school.

Is anyone else as frustrated as much as I am about traffic on Detroit?
This city is growing too fast to handle all the traffic. Detroit is the only main street going East and West and they have it so tied up it was bumper to bumper yesterday from Westlake to Avon Commons!

I don't like the growth at all. I loved Avon when no one knew where or what Avon was. I loved growing up there, now it's changed and the people are mean!

Brandy, I don't think the people are mean. I have had a good experience with all my neighbors. Maybe you ran into the ones stuck in traffic?

Where are the most congested areas in Avon, and at what time? The Chester Road - SR 83 area (near I-90) is always a mess at 5 p.m.

The Rt. 83 Westbound exit ramp is horrid as early as 4 p.m. I pass it every day on my way home from CSU. Best advice: stay as far left of it if you're not using it. It's an accident waiting to happen.

How about going from Chester & Moore west at 4:30 or so. I have waited in traffic there once for 20 minutes!! Due to the closure of Lear Rd. north, Lear and Detroit can be a mess at any given time. But I think the worst in general is the SR83, Chester to Detroit is the worst.

All streets between 1p and 6p. Drivers are sooooo stupid in this town!
Intersection of RT 83 and Detroit, and between RT 83 and the Commons during the afternoon rush and on weekends. RT 83 and Chester during afternoon rush. Both are CRAZY! Chester Rd. at 611 from about 3:30-5:30 weekdays is backed up.

I wish I could say when the new interchange opens it will help but all that traffic is coming off onto a two lane road (Nagel) which will only cause more backup. I can't even walk there are no sidewalks. Who plans these things? Sigh.

Chester and 83 is the WORST! The morons who think they can block traffic because they are not paying attention and get in the way of oncoming traffic need to be ticketed! Where are the Avon cops? They could make their quotas in one day by pulling over these idiots. Why aren't the "do not block intersection" laws enforced in this town?

Yeah, people need to settle down about squeaking through the light. If you're 3 cars back in stopped traffic and the light is yellow, just stop at the appropriate place! (Hint: it's some point before your vehicle is turned 45 degrees across 3 lanes of traffic!)
