The Avon Walmart is preparing for the Aug. 2 opening of the store’s expansion by hiring an additional 80 part and full-time employees. The store has been hiring since February but is stepping up its efforts to have the building staffed for the additional amenities. Walmart is in the process of adding 32,000 square feet to the store, located at 35901 Chester Road, making it a Supercenter with a grocery section that will include produce, meat, dairy and a bakery. When completed, the store will be 183,000 square feet. Store manager Tammy Pistore said that along with the building expansion, is the expansion of operating hours. “The hours now are 7 a.m. – 11 p.m., but we’re going to 24 hours,” she said. “We’ll need overnight cashiers and …
