Beat the winter blues at the Great Big Home & Garden Expo, which runs Feb. 4 through 12 at the I-X Center. Lush landscapes and gardens by local landscape companies, showcase homes made and decorated by local firms, and the latest home products will give you inspiration for a year's worth of home improvement and garden projects. Celebrity appearances include Chip Wade of HGTV's Curb Appeal, Bryan Baeumler from DIY Network's Disaster DIY and House of Bryan, Matt Fox of Around the House with Matt & Shari, and Fahrenheit chef Rocco Whalen, who recently appeared on the Food Network show Fat Chef.

Don't forget that there is an Irish dance competition going on Saturday at the IX center as well (separate from the home and garden expo) starting at 8:30AM. There will be nearly 1000 dancers competing including my children:
