Avon police, Elyria police, Vermilion police, Lorain police, Sheffield Village police, Lorain County Sheriff's Office and Warthogs #46 will compete in the Pete Soto Chili Cook-Off.
The event is named after Avon police officer Pete Soto, who was injured in a motorcycle crash while on-duty in 2010. This year's event is a benefit for Lorain County Blue Foundation.
Tickets are available at Avon Police Department. The event is sponsored by Avon Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 145 and Avon Police Benevolent Society.

More About Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus Father Ragan Council 3269 is conveniently situated near I-90 next to BJ's Wholesale Club. A group of Roman Catholic men from the Avon and Avon Lake areas founded the Father Ragan Council in 1950 and built the structure themselves. They actively support the parishes of Avon and Avon Lake as well as the communities. Membership information can be obtained by calling or submitting a form online. Although this is a fraternal organization, an affiliated women's auxiliary is also associated. The party center is available for rent for such occasions as weddings, showers and private parties.
