A Christmas Story at the Q: My Love-Hate Relationship with a Cleveland Classic

Once just a funny gag onscreen, the Christmas Story leg lamp has now become a real-life emblem for the holidays in many homes. And this year I'm ready to deck the halls with my own "major award."

Growing up I had a love-hate relationship with A Christmas Story. The first time I watched it, I was terrified of the red-nosed Department Store Santa, the same scene that would somehow be playing every single time I turned on the movie during TBS's all-day marathons.

However, once I got over this bit of the film, it won me over. And this tale of a boy in pursuit of a Red Ryder BB Gun is now one of my favorite holiday classics up there with The Muppet Christmas Carol.

When I moved to Cleveland, I couldn't believe that part of the movie was filmed here and hurried to the Christmas Story House and museum in Tremont to relive it all over again.

Next Wednesday, the Cleveland Cavaliers have partnered with the museum and KeyBank to serve up their own bit of holiday kitsch when the Cavs take on the Chicago Bulls at home.

And I have 4 tickets to the game to give away to a blog reader.

I'm excited because it'll not only be my first time attending an NBA game, but it's also Bobble Leg Lamp Night.

The Q will be decked out with pink bunnies, FRAGILE crates and other Christmas Story surprises while everyone in attendance will take home their very own "major award" (in bobble form) to proudly show off.
