Cleveland Museum of Art Engages New Audiences with First Friday MIXers

While the longtime University Circle landmark has always been popular with younger audiences, the Cleveland Museum of Art MIXes things up with new event series and YP interest group.

Over the last couple of months, the Cleveland Museum of Art has been — well, literally – MIXing things up when it comes to attracting the next generation of audiences to the museum.

The Art Museum’s new MIX series take guests on a unique trip of the museum every first Friday. Whether it’s your first or nth time at the museum, these happy hours each focus on a different aspect of the museum’s collection.

For instance, at last month’s MIX, we went on a scavenger hunt of the museum’s collection to solve a “mystery” and danced under the glass roof of the beautiful, newly opened Ames Family Atrium.

While the longtime University Circle landmark has always been popular with younger audiences (best free date night in Cleveland, in my opinion), MIX is one part of a larger campaign to engage Cleveland’s recent college graduates and young professionals to the museum.

Complementing MIX is the Art Museum’s new philanthropy group Column & Stripe.
