Lions Hold FlapJack Fund Raiser

The Avon Lions held a FlapJacks for Fisher House pancake breakfast at Applebees in Avon Commons on Saturday Oct 26 from 8-10 am.  The event benefited the construction of a Cleveland Fisher House which provides meals, lodging, and support for military families while their soldier is being treatesd at the Cleveland VA.  The event raised over $1000, which will be matched by the Avon Lions to make the final donation just over $2000.  The Lions served the breakfast that was prepared by the expert Applebees chefs.  The patrons generously put their tips into the basket for donations and even the 50/50 winner, Ralph-he wished to remain anonymous, donated his $71 winnings back to the cause.  A big thanks to Applebees, the generosity of our community, and the willingness to get the job done by the Lions in supporting our wounded warriors!
