Avon Lake's Aquatic Center's Season Kicks Off

With school officially out, the municipal pool is ready for summer.

Cooler temperatures that reached only into the upper 60s didn’t deter hundreds from showing up to enjoy opening day at the June 3.

Season officially began at 4 p.m. Avon Lake Recreation Department’s Lorrie Bruce said the late start was the result of the June 3 being the last day of school.

 “A lot of our workers are still in school today,” she said.
