Changing of the Guard

Kiwanis' new president is inducted.

The Avon Lake Kiwanis Club, the largest--and one of the oldest--service organizations in the city, inducted its new president, Dorothy Henderson, on Oct. 3.

Henderson replaced Darrel Bilancini, who will now serve as the Immediate Past President. Bilancini, a lawyer who lives in Avon Lake, is also the Avon Lake Municipal Court  judge.

Serving on the Kiwanis Board is a bit of a family affair for Henderson. Her husband, Russ Henderson, was inducted Oct. 3 as the club's second vice president. Kyle Maurer, of Bay Village, was installed as the club's first vice president. Each will serve a one-year term.

The Hendersons reside in Sheffield Lake. For more information on the Avon Lake Kiwanis Club, which meets every Thursday evening at the Avon Lake Public Library, visit their website.
