Fundraisers Kick Off 2013 Avon-Avon Lake Relay for Life Season

Avon-Avon Lake Relay for Life is gearing up for this year’s Relay and will be holding two fundraisers this week in Avon.

The 2013 Avon-Avon Lake Relay is Saturday, June 8. The Relay kicks off at 1 p.m. at Avon Lake High School. The popular annual event is held at different venues nationally and collectively it is the American Cancer Society’s biggest fundraiser.

The Avon-Avon Lake organizers are holding two fundraisers: Dine to Donate and Drink to Donate. 

"We are excited to be putting on both events, a first in Avon-Avon Lake Relay history,” communication coordinator Chelsea Stepchuk, the head of the Avon-Avon Lake Public Relations Committee said.

Dine to Donate is Wednesday, Feb. 20 from 11a.m. – 9 p.m. at the Avon Applebee’s located in the Avon Commons. 

“Whether you’re heading out to lunch with a couple of co-workers, or going to out to dinner with your family, be sure to have the attached flyer handy to present to your server,” Stepchuck said.

Applebee’s will donate 15 percent of your check to the Avon-Avon Lake Relay for Life. Please print attached PDF.

Drink to Donate is Saturday, Feb. 23 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Avon Cafe, located on Detroit Road at the corner of the Detroit Road and French Creek Rd. intersection. Treat yourself to a warm coffeehouse beverage and 15 percent of all proceeds raised that day with be donated to the Avon-Avon Lake Relay for Life.
