Have you seen Echo? Reward for Return of Lost Dog

Last seen on SR 83 near the railroad tracks.

Have you seen Echo?

Owner Susan Shepard said at approximately 9 p.m. on Dec 20, “Echo” the family’s 3-year-old Welsh Terrier dog slipped out of his collar while out jogging with her husband and ran away while near SR 83 and Walker Road in Avon Lake.  The dog was sighted by the Avon Lake police dispatcher on the way to work near the railroad tracks on SR 83.

“We have had the dog for only seven months, so I am not sure of its ability to find her way home,” Shepard said.

The dog was previously a resident at a breeder’s location in West Virginia.

Echo looks like a small Airedale or some have said a teddy bear. She weighs 20 pounds and is brown and tan.  She is described as friendly, but shy.

A reward is being offered for the return of the dog.

If anyone sees Echo, contact Shepard at 216- 650-1076, Connie at 216-314-0321or the Avon Lake police department at 440-933-4567.

Echo Location...news is getting better! We saw Echo today after getting several sighting calls. She is located in the woods between the Goodwill Store on Rt 83 near the tracks and JCPenney in Avon. We saw her this afternoon and she ran right past Susan. She would not stop. We ran after her but lost her in the woods. Love-A-Stray has been VERY helpful, they brought out volunteers and a blood hound. They helped us find a good place (where we able to locate many of her paw prints) to place her crate with food in which she normally sleeps in at home. If she visits the crate, Love-A-Stray will then set up a live trap in place of the crate. One-step at a time! Once again I can't believe how supportive the Love-A-Stray people have been in assisting us!!! (even to the point where Connie, from Love-A-Stray, while chasing Echo in her car hit a curb and broke her front suspension rendering her car inoperable). These volunteers are incredible at a time of feeling helpless, especially when my kids ask when she will be returning home...my kids all sent updated letters to Santa saying that now all they want is Echo back for Christmas...here's hoping! I know so many people are in need...but please consider Adopt-A-Stray in when looking for charitable donations.

ECHO FOUND AND AT HOME!!!! Our prayers were answered! Thanks to everyone that helped with calling in the sightings of Echo and special thanks to the volunteers that help on-site with the searches. Once again Love-A-Stray's help was invaluable. We got another call this afternoon that Echo was located near Goodwill and this time when Susan got there, Echo came running up into Susan's open arms. Vet gave her a clean bill of health beyond a few scrapes and she is resting comfortably at home now.

Awesome news! Glad Echo was found before she tried to cross Rt 83 (and before the weather worsens). Bless Connie, from Love-A-Stray (and the other volunteers) for going beyond the call of duty to help. Does Connie have other transportation until she gets the suspension fixed on her car?
