Wings and Prayers for Abie Loebich: BW-3 Fundraiser Today Will Help After Accident

Loebich suffered a traumatic brain injury Feb. 17 after a dirt bike accident.

Abie Loebich is on the road to recovery and her family and friends are making sure she has the help she needs to get there.

Loebich, 26, was in a dirtbike accident in Montana Feb. 17 and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

“She’s doing good,” Cassie Kendera, Abie’s soon-to-be sister-in-law said. “She has some memory and balance issues.”

Loebich, an Avon Lake High School grad, spent several days in a coma but is back in Avon Lake and is now in the recovery phase.

Her family and friends are holding a fundraiser, Wings and Prayers for Abie at the Avon Lake Buffalo Wild Wings to help pay for bills associated with day-to-day recovery and medical bills.

Today, March 27, Kendera, Spenser Shiley (another future sister-in-law), Casie Behrend and Annie Heczko-Gamellia are hosting an all-day event that includes raffling off 20 gift baskets and a 50-50 raffle. Check in with the ladies for a flyer to get 20 percent of your BW-3 check donated back to Abie’s cause.

Gift baskets include sports memorabilia, liquor and wine baskets, a kids basket, jewelry, and a basket made up of only Avon Lake goods.

A fundraiser site has also been set up at Gofundme.com.

A facebook page has been created with updates on her condition.

The fundraiser runs from 11 a.m. through 10 p.m.

Raffle winner will be drawn at 8 p.m.
