UPDATE: Cleveland Pops Joining Chorale's Free Concert Nov. 13 at ALUCC

Oct. 30 concert has been rescheduled to ALUCC; members of Cleveland Pops will accompany chorale.

Avon Lake High School Chorale will present Mozart’s Requiem on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Avon Lake United Church of Christ. This event was rescheduled after the original was canceled after the Oct. 29 storm.

Members of The Cleveland Pops Orchestra will accompany the chorale as they perform Mozart's Requiem.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Choral director William Zurkey said the approximately one-hour long concern will include an an orchestra of professional players from Cleveland. 

Zurkey said the students have put in a significant effort.

“The Chorale has given up lunch periods to work on the Mozart Requiem,” Zurkey said. “They are so excited to be able to present this amazing choral work. I have enjoyed this Mozart project so much.”

Zurkey said the rehearsals have been a big benefit to the students.

“I have seen my singers grow through the experience of a great choral work,” he said. “They really love it. Rehearsals are so much fun…I am blessed.”
