Dean Martin's Son Paying Tribute May 14 in Avon Lake

Ricci Martin's tribute show, Memories Are Made of This, will stop in Avon Lake for one performance.

The legendary Dean Martin is known for many songs including like Memories Are Made Of This, Volare, That’s Amore, On An Evening In Rome and Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime.

And while there was only one Dean Martin, fans can walk down memory lane with his youngest son, Ricci Martin, on Saturday, May 14 at ’s Performing Arts Center.

Memories Are Made of This is billed as a 90-minute show where Ricci takes the audience down memory lane, singing many of his father’s hit songs.

During some musical segments, photos from the elder Martin’s life, including personal photos, will be projected from Dean’s personal family life, his Vegas performances and his hit television series The Dean Martin Show.

Ricci Martin takes you back with Sam’s Song and a Sinatra Medley featuring Ricci’s old pal’s doing Frank and Sammy, and of course Ricci as Dean.

J.B. Productions' Joe DeRusso, who is promoting the show said Martin will perform for half an hour before stopping and taking questions from the audience about his dad’s life.

"On the screen will be his father and they will sing together," DeRusso said. "He talks about his brother, Dean Paul Martin, dying in the plane crash. Dean Paul died in 1987 when his National Guard F-4 Phantom fighter jet crashed in California's San Bernardino Mountains during a snowstorm.

"He talks about how that was the end of Dean Martin,"DeRusso said. "He was never the same after that."

The show begins in the high school’s Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Tickets are $27.50 and can be ordered through Judi Kostelansky at  440-933-5163 ext. 1519 or by making arrangement through email.
