Explorer's Club, Book Sale at Avon Library

 EXPLORER’S CLUB

      Kindergarteners through fifth-graders, participate in a starry treasure hunt library-style at the Avon Branch Library, Tuesday, July 17 at 1 p.m. or Wednesday, July 18 at 1 p.m. Whose team will gather the most stars? After everything has been collected the teams will create a group mural of their own constellation for display in the Library. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library.

JULY BOOK SALE

     Pick up some good summer bargains on books, DVDs, and more at the July Book Sale at Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library. The sale will be open to the public on Friday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

     The deals will even be sweeter on Friday, July 20 when baked goods from an Avon Branch Library Teen Bake-Off will be available for purchase. The Bake Sale will be held in conjunction with the Library Book Sale on July 20. Proceeds from the Bake Sale will benefit The Friends of the Avon Library.

     A special preview sale will be held, Thursday, July 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The preview sale is open to members of The Friends of the Avon Library. If you would like to attend the preview sale, you may join the Friends group that night by paying the annual membership fee. The sale is sponsored by The Friends of the Avon Library.

 eMedia PROGRAM

    An eMail program will be held, Monday, July 23 at 3 p.m. at the Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library. Participants will learn about the various types of media – eBooks, music, audiobooks, and more – that can be downloaded using the Library’s Overdrive Media, Bookflix and Freegal services. The instructor will demonstrate some of the commonly available-to-purchase devices that are now on the market. The participants will learn about the various kinds of eBooks that can be downloaded or viewed on one’s computer. Class size is limited. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.
