Family Holiday Open House a Avon Branch Library

Families can get into the holiday spirit by attending a Family Holiday Open House, Saturday, December 15 at 2 p.m. at the Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library. Children of all ages will enjoy making various holiday crafts, listening to music and hearing a holiday story. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.

History Comes Alive with Laura Ingalls Wilder

Women in History member Charlene Connors will portray Laura Ingalls Wilder, famed children’s author during a free program, Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library. Hear the story of the real life adventures of the pioneering Ingalls family and their Little House on the Prairie. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.

Join The Evening Book Discussion Group

Adults are invited to join the Adult Evening Book Discussion Group when it meets, Wednesday, December 5 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library. The group will discuss, Caleb's Crossing by Geraldine Brooks. Copies of the book are available at the Library. New members are welcome. Touchdown for Reading Celebration

Families participating in the Lorain Public Library System’s Touchdown for Reading Program are invited to a celebration of sports with games, music, and other fun activities, Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library. Stop in at the Library to pick up your ticket to the program. Admission is by ticket only.  Special sponsorship of this event is provided by The Foundation of the Lorain Public Library System Inc. and Emerson Network Power, Energy System, NA. Knitting And Crochet Club

Adults and teens, join this community group of knitters and crocheters on the first and second Friday of each month. In December, the group will meet, Fridays, December 7 and December 14 at 11 a.m. at the Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library. Beginners and those with experience are all welcome to bring a current yarn project to work on, share ideas and help each other learn the basics or something new. Periodically, guest presenters will share instructions for special projects. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.

Get To Know The iPad at this Free Program

Apple Certified Consultant, Andrew Lent, will teach teens through adults how to get started with your iPad. The Get To Know The iPad program will be held, Wednesday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library. Whether you already own an iPad, or are looking to buy, you won’t want to miss this program. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.
