Get Out: Crushers Anthem-Singing Auditions, Home Run for the Homeless, Easter Egg Hunt

Why go: The Crushers are looking for skilled performers of all ages to sing the National Anthem this season. Future American Idols have to start somewhere.

Where/when: , 7 a.m. April 16.

Why go: Come run in support of The Haven Center, Lorain County’s year-round 24 hour emergency homeless shelter for men, women and children. There will be a timed 5k Run and a 1 Mile Family Walk. Enjoy the DJMusic, awards, food and fun.  All registered participants ($25) receive a T-shirt and ticket voucher to the June 14th Crusher’s games. Additional tickets to the June 14th game can be purchased for $9. Register online at http://www.Walk2011.com.

Why go: Easter Egg Hunt at Hope Christian Church is open to all children up to fifth grade. There will be games, music and prizes. Oh, and 2,500 eggs full of candy!

Why go: Healthy Kids Day is part of the YMCA’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of families across the country. The day is designed to promote activity for children.

Where/when: , 2 p.m. to close April 16

Why go: Come indulge with a treat or two and 20 percent of all sales go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. There will aso be live music, a 50-50 raffle, gift basket raffles, cornhole, a jewelry sale and other entertainment.

Pricing: Free, except for the food and drinks.
