Join experienced flower arranger Bobbe Rudge and create your own holiday table-top tree of greens and botanicals on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 am – noon at the Prepaid registration at the Circulation desk is required. Friends member material fee - $15. General public material fee - $20. Please bring a hand pruner or a suitable cutting tool.

 The Avon Lake Public Library Board of Trustees seeks a dedicated member of the community to serve a 7-year term, 2012 - 19. Interested persons are invited to fill out an application form, which may be obtained at the Circulation desk or from the Library’s website, www.alpl.org. Completed applications should be returned to the Library no later than Tuesday, Dec. 6. The Board of Library Trustees meets at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month; in addition, there may be occasional committee work. A genuine interest in the Library and a willingness to devote the necessary time are important factors in selection. The Library Board’s next meeting is Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Lakeshore Room.

Used Book Sale

Shop the Friends of Avon Lake Public Library’s Used Book Sale on Friday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Library. Find everything from mysteries and romance books to children’s books and titles on cooking, health, nature and much more.

After Hours Lock-In

Games…computers…pizza…and it’s all after-hours on Friday, Dec. 2 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. for students ages 11 – 16. A permission form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian and returned prior to the event. Forms are available at the YA desk.
