Relax! Meditate! Learn How at the Avon Library

HOOKED! KNITTING AND CROCHET CLUB           

Adults and teens are invited to join the Hooked! Knitting and Crochet Club at its next meeting, Friday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Avon Branch Library. Join this community group of knitters and crocheters on the first and second Friday of each month. Beginners and those with experience are all welcome to bring a current yarn project to work on, share ideas and help each other learn the basics or something new. Periodically, guest presenters will share instructions for special projects. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.

RELAXATION MEDITATION PROGRAMS

Adults and teens are welcome to melt their stress away by learning relaxation and meditation techniques. Come to one or all of the upcoming Relaxation Meditation programs on Saturdays, Sept. 15, 22 and 29 at 2 p.m. at the System’s Avon Branch Library. Beginner's yoga poses may be incorporated during these one hour programs. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.

ADULTS INVITED TO AFTERNOON BOOK DISCUSSION

Adults are invited to join the Afternoon Book Discussion Group when it meets, Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the System’s Avon Branch Library. The group will discuss, Beaded Hope by Cathy Liggett. Pass In Review Author Visit

Clyde Cocke, Avon Lake resident and 1977 West Point graduate will be sharing his first work of nonfiction, Pass in Review, a behind-the-scenes look at the United States Military Academy, during a free program, Tuesday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at the System’s Avon Branch Library. He will show photos, talk about West Point and the Long Gray Line and share his personal experiences with book publishing. After the program, the author will have copies of Pass in Review available for purchase and signing. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.   

OCTOBER Adult EVENING Book Discussion

Adults are invited to join the Adult Evening Book Discussion Group when it meets, Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at the System’s Avon Branch Library.  The group will discuss,  The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton.
