STORY TIMES

Avon Branch Library has Preschool Story Times on Tuesday, March 12 and 19 at 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. Three through 5 year olds will enjoy stories, music and activities. On Thursday, March 14 and 21, the Library has story times for children all ages. Bring your babies from 6 to 23 months old for stories, music and finger plays at 10:30 a.m. Two year olds and their caregivers are welcome at Two Steppin’ Twos at 11:15 a.m. for stories, music and finger plays. Then at 6 p.m., Music Makers is a musical story time for families with children of all ages. Join us for stories with a beat, toe-tapping tunes, instruments and dancing. CELEBRATE WOMEN IN HISTORY

Celebrate women in history with the Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library. Tuesday, March 19 at 7 p.m., celebrate the woman who alerted the world to the environmental dangers of the insecticide DDT. Rachel Carson, famed marine biologist, will be portrayed by Women in History member, Charlene Connors. Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.

eMEDIA

eMedia, public computers and online resources have turned Lorain Public Library System Libraries into digital community hubs. The Avon Branch Library will assist new users at eMedia class on Wednesday, March 20 at 6 p.m. Participants will learn about the various types of media that can be downloaded using the library’s OverDrive media, Bookflix and Freegal services. eBooks, music, audiobooks and more are available. SPRING ART SHOW AND RECEPTION

 Avon Branch Library has an art show in full swing at the Library. The show features local adult artists. From watercolor paintings to collage works, you’re sure to find something eye-catching at the Library. The art will be on display through March 30. A reception for artists, patrons and friends will be held at the Library March 21 at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome.
