Our Rewards System

I am really just upset about how people get rewarded for improving behavior but the people who always have good behavior get nothing.

Something that I really don't understand is that people get rewarded for having good behavior only because they had poor behavior before. I understand, if someone is doing bad and then they improve, that's a good thing and they should be recognized for it. The only thing I dont understand is why are they being recognized and not the people who always do well? Afterall, you are supposed to do well.

People who do well, do so simply because they do what they're supposed to. However, they don't get recognized for it? So why should the people who do poorly suddenly get rewarded for doing what is expected of them? It just doesn't make sense to me. If you aren't going to reward everyone for good behavior and doing well, then don't reward anyone at all. It is completely unfair.

I feel the need to speak out about this because I'm becoming very frustrated with the way my school rewards students. I have always done well, I have always done my work, I am always on time for school/class, I never skip, I always do my homework, and I try really hard to achieve things.

I think what is making me so bitter about this whole situation is that I try really hard and I get nothing for it while other kids who get things handed to them, don't try at all and end up with "Positive Referals" and "Student of the Month." I have never once in my high school career recieved a Postive Referal or Student of the Month. Nothing. Yet, other kids have recieved them numerous amounts of time for doing what's expected of them. How is that fair at all?

The fact that my school rewards kids for "improving their behavior" drives me absolutely insane. It's as if, in order to be recognized for the things I have accomplished, I have to do really poorly and then suddenly change my ways so much so that everyone will notice. Sometimes my efforts feel pointless in this school, so pointless that I should just stop trying. I won't, but I hope the school realizes how it makes people feel sometimes. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.
